Washington Parish Public Transit Ride Guide
ASSISTING PASSENGERS ON VEHICLES
Washington Parish Public Transit provides curb-to-curb service. You are responsible for getting in and out of your residence and destinations. A Personal Care Attendant may be necessary.
Drivers may provide minimal assistance to passengers boarding vehicles. If you require special assistance, you should have a Personal Care Attendant accompany you on all trips. You must furnish your own PCA.
The driver may assist you with groceries and packages to the door. This is limited to one trip from the vehicle to the door per ride. Large or heavy packages are prohibited,
Passengers have no jurisdiction over the type of vehicle used to provide transportation.
Priority seating is made available for passengers with disabilities and seniors. The driver may request an ambulatory passenger occupying priority seating to move if a passenger with disability or a senior boards.
