Nutrition Program

In addition to the Nutrition Sites indicated below, the Council on Aging has a Home Delivered Meals program. This program provides home-delivered meals to elderly individuals who are homebound and cannot shop or cook for themselves. In this program, five nutritionally balanced, frozen meals are delivered to eligible persons each week. Persons must be temporarily or chronically homebound to qualify for this program. The Washington Parish Council on Aging will not, directly or through contractual or other arrangements, discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, or handicap in the provision of services, program benefits, or employment. All locations are handicapped accessible. The Washington Parish Council on Aging is a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors. This board consists of members representing various communities through out the parish. While the primary sources of funding are provided by federal and state agencies, private donations are necessary and essential.
